Last week, Fort Worth took centre stage in the global esports scene, hosting not one, but two major championships at the iconic Dickies Arena – the Fortnite Global Championship and the Rocket League World Championship, presented by Progressive. BLAST welcomed over 140 of the world's best players to compete for a share of over $3 million in prizes, with fans from 35 countries and 46 US States in the arena. The energy was electric, from Fortnite’s fierce competition to Rocket League’s thrilling, high-speed matches. An incredible two weeks of esports action came to a close last night at Dickies Arena! The Rocket League and Fortnite Championships brought 148 world-class players from 35 countries to Dallas-Forth Worth, Texas to compete for over $3 million in combined prize pools, with ten of thousands of passionate fans walking through the doors across five crowded days. This has been a large operational undertaking - boiling down to 17 consecutive days at Dickies Arena, coordinating over 400 crew members and stagehands to deliver two hugely successful events. We've been able to pull this off thanks to the outstanding work from BLAST’s production, broadcast, and event teams - I'm immensely proud of the entire team on this incredible effort! A big thank you also goes to our partners: Epic Games, Fort Worth Sports, C3 Presents, Live Nation Entertainment, BLACKLYTE, NASCAR, Progressive Insurance, Ally, Mobil 1, and Dickies Arena for helping bring these events to life. Esports and BLAST will return to Texas once again in June 2025 for the Counter-Strike Major at the Moody Center ATX.

Esports is taking over Dallas-Fort Worth in September! Last night Peterbot and Pollo were crowned FNCS Global Championship 2024 champions in front of thousands of fans at Dickies Arena in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas - taking home $400,000 in winnings from a combined $2 million prize pool. The event became the most viewed Fortnite Competitive event since 2019 and the third highest highest of all time with a peak viewership of 794,288. The BLAST team were also able to make history by securing the first ever FNCS partnerships, bringing on board NASCAR and BLACKLYTE - the latter also cover our Rainbow Six and Counter-Strike ecosystems. The esports action in Dickies Arena doesn't stop there with the RLCS World Championship happening this week, where 16 of the world's best teams competing for a $1 million prize pool. Across these two championships, over 35 countries will be represented with over 148 players from around the world coming to Fort Worth to compete on a global stage. Next June Austin will host the BLAST.tv Major 2025 at the Moody Centre - further putting Texas on the map for esports and gaming.
