As a partner and sponsor of the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers (FACL), BLG attended FACL's 18th Annual Conference and Gala this past weekend. BLG Associate Annie H. co-chaired this year’s conference and gala, bringing together over 400 legal professionals and law students nationally, and Partner Tamara Tomomitsu spoke on the Women in Law panel, sharing her insights on tackling bias, balance and beyond. The main takeaway - diverse leadership and inclusive professional networks foster innovation, deeper connections, and stronger relationships. When legal professionals can bring their full identities to their work, they contribute fresh perspectives, enhance collaboration, and drive meaningful impact within their clients and colleagues. We’re proud to support FACL’s mission to promote equity, justice and opportunity in the legal profession and the broader community. How can we #AccelerateAction on gender equality? International Women's Day 2025 suggests we celebrate women’s success—and we couldn’t agree more! Head to the comments on this post and tag one or more women who inspire you, sharing a little about why you’re recognizing them. On March 4, Tania DeSa shared these three ways to accelerate action with BLGers: - Know what makes you different from others and sell it. The biggest leadership myth is that your work will speak for itself. - Put together a “personal board of directors” who can coach, mentor and sponsor you. Be clear about who you are and where you want to go. Champion others, too. - Be aware when you use filler words like “Sorry…” “I hate to ask…” “Silly question…” “I may be wrong…” so you can choose whether to use them or not. Now back to our IWD tag-a-thon. We’ve asked a few BLG leaders to get us started… Nadia Effendi Laura Levine Judie B. Julie Bogle Cherie Mah Pamela Cross ICD.D, TEP, LLB Rebecca Bush Nicole M. St-Louis Ryma Nasrallah Victoria Prince Marta O. Lewycky Mary Ann Stallings Lisa Blair Kimberley Ho Stephanie Smith Valérie Dufour Tamara Costa 🇨🇦 Lisa Marie Bruzzese John Murphy David Di Paolo Cindy Clarke Melinda Park, K.C. », « petite question...
