On Monday Google made an announcement via a blog post written by Anthony Chavez, VP, Privacy Sandbox, regarding cookie deprecation. In this post, they stated that while the Privacy Sandbox API has the potential to achieve the desired outcomes, it requires significant work by many participants which has an impact on everyone involved. Due to this, they are proposing that they would not deprecate 3rd party cookies, but rather give users more control over privacy in their browser settings. They are still discussing this with regulators and intend to engage with the industry as they look to roll out this new solution. Robin LeGassicke, MD Digital has had the chance to contribute to several industry news pieces over the last day and a half. Check out the links to see what was said.
