We are delighted to support Circuit 4 of Audio Flux. The project has created a much needed space for audio producers itching to make something great. The Reverend John DeLore and Julie Shapiro are deeply committed to the audio form and are quickly building a community for podcasters and audio storytellers to sharpen their skills, get creative and experimental, and do work that they simply can't do anywhere else. CANADALAND is equally committed to nurturing talent, building networks, and fostering new opportunities and we're so happy to be a part of this project. Applications for Circuit 04 are now open.

Career listener, audio executive, champion of sound + story, via Canadaland & AUDIO FLUX.

I know, there are many pressing / world-rattling news updates crowding every platform and our brains right now. But! In the interest of distraction / audio therapy, The Reverend John DeLore and I are giddy with excitement about Audio Flux Circuit 04: Firsts, which is, as of this morning, now open for three-minute audio submissions through September 15. Our creative partner for this circuit is the singular Jason Reynolds, whose upcoming novel "Twenty-Four Seconds From Now" has inspired a fresh set of prompts around first times, first loves, first any/everythings. [And who is one of my favorite writer-artist-humans, NBD 🤩 ] Eight new fluxworks (four commissioned and four selected from submissions) will debut at the RESONATE Podcast Festival this October. And Jason will respond to each, in writing. Cool, right? Read all about Circuit 04 -- the prompts, submission guidelines, FAQs here: https://lnkd.in/eTjNUNBm Firsts come in all shapes, sizes and narratives, and we hope you'll consider submitting a story, whether you fancy yourself a producer or not. And big thanks to the fine folks at CANADALAND for supporting 04 -- takes a village, as we/you know. p.s. Speaking of Audio Fluxville, we're always looking for additional partners and collaborators, whether financial, strategic or creative, so do get in touch if you want to talk Flux shop!

In the summer of 2021, two young Afghan women — Raha and Marwa — started exchanging hundreds of voice memos with French journalist Caroline Gillet, chronicling their coming-of-age as the world they once knew collapsed around them. While Raha (Sumaia Sediqi) chooses to stay in Kabul, Marwa (Behishta Nazir) has left and finds herself in a refugee camp in Abu Dhabi.
This is Inside Kabul: A universal story of friendship, bravery and the meaning of home. Today we launched our newest show Pretendians - a podcast hosted by the amazing Angel Ellis and Robert Jago. It is an incredibly relevant, eye opening examination of Indigenous identity fraud that also happens to be a fun, fresh, funny, and utterly compelling. I am heartened to see the show topping the charts alongside the likes of Crime Junkie, Huberman, and Campside. It proves that there is room for podcasts that are both entertaining and challenging. I would love for you to take a listen, follow, and help us get to the top of the charts (move over Call Her Daddy and joe Rogan) proving that an issues based podcast that happens to be produced in Canada can reach and impact a broad North American audience. https://lnkd.in/eQKQPzMw
