Happy Birthday 🎂 from the global independent community to Canadian Independent Music Association as they kick off their 50th anniversary celebrations this Saturday in Vancouver with the CIMA AFTERPARTY. Founded in 1975 and a proud member of WIN, CIMA represents over 650 Canadian-owned music companies connected to over 6000 artists and music industry workers in every province and territory in Canada. For half a century, CIMA has played a pivotal role in the growth of the local independent music sector and has raised the profile of Canadian music at home and abroad. Its pioneering work is a testament to the great work being done by WIN associations around the world. This includes innovative policy programs, key member services, initiatives that invest in Canadian-owned music companies and artists, awards that promote local independent music, industry-leading projects to export Canada's rich music abroad, and work on equity and mental health, among many others.
