Excited to share my latest editorial published by the Canadian Science Policy Centre (CSPC). Canada continues to be a global powerhouse in academic research, backed by strong government support, well-funded institutions, and a deep commitment to innovation. With over 133,900 Scopus-indexed publications in 2024 alone, our academic ecosystem is not only thriving, it’s setting global benchmarks. The University of Toronto leads with 20,594 papers, followed by The University of British Columbia (11,788) and The University of Alberta (9,534), showcasing Canada’s impact across disciplines. Private universities are also making their mark. A focused analysis revealed University Canada West leading among private institutions, highlighting the growing role of emerging universities in shaping the country’s research landscape.
