It’s time for our latest Cheers for Your Peers post! This “made-in-Coquitlam” initiative recognizes the outstanding work of City employees who have been nominated by their peers, with stories shared internally and through the City’s social media platforms. Today, we’re celebrating Jackie Diy, our amazing Clerk 3 in Corporate Services! Jackie is a ray of sunshine in the department and across the organization, bringing enthusiasm, dedication, and a creative spark to everything she does. Jackie provides essential administrative support to multiple divisions, including ICT, Human Resources, Corporate Planning, Communications and Civic Engagement, and Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. From supply requisitions and onboarding support and coordinating financial reporting, Jackie ensures that the Corporate Services operations run smoothly while balancing shifting priorities. One of her key responsibilities is assisting the ICT team with purchase orders and invoices, which is critical work that helps keep the City’s systems running efficiently. But Jackie’s work isn’t just about logistics, she also plays a major role in the trimester reporting variance analysis, a key financial process that ensures accurate reporting and informed decision-making. Jackie has always aspired to work in government, knowing it’s a place where she could contribute her skills, share her experiences, and grow. After starting with the City in Finance, she went on to support Business Licences, Animal Services, Building Permits, and now Corporate Services. “In the course of my stay here, I have met so many people and made so many friends that I feel that I know everyone and that makes coming to work always an exciting thing for me,” she says. “Some remarkable values that the City upholds are diversity and equality and how everyone here is given an equal opportunity to shine. “With the City you feel safe, appreciated and recognized.” Aside from her day-to-day work, Jackie’s creativity and enthusiasm shine through in all the challenges she takes on. She takes pride in developing procedural manuals to support colleagues and has been instrumental in initiatives like the City-sponsored Employment Forum, helping newcomers integrate into the workforce. And when it comes to Halloween, she’s a legend at the City, leading her teams to Best Decorated Department awards year after year. #CheersForYourPeer
