On October 8th the Kelowna Fire Department held their annual “Fire Chief for the Day” event, hosting a total of 22 Kelowna students from Kindergarten to Grade 3 for an evening of learning about fire safety, and directly issuing orders to the KFD’s on-duty fire crews. Each designated fire chief had a portrait taken with Fire Chief Dwight Seymor, with prints provided by Walmart. The event was highlighted by a live fire demonstration where our school nominated chiefs were shown firsthand how quickly a fire can grow and learn the importance of having functioning smoke alarms in your home. #NFSW
