Is that.... a theremin? Why yes, it is, and it was just one of many ways multidisciplinary artist Krista Muir brought good vibrations on stage during her time in the 2024 Local Arts Residency at Kingston Grand Theatre. Experimenting with music, comedy and theatre to create the foundation for a one-of-a-kind new show, Krista turned the Baby Grand into her playground with hilarious results. Take a look behind-the-scenes to see Krista’s residency in action: https://lnkd.in/e9-s4uc4 Video created by Céline Klein of Jamstone Productions

On Oct. 2, professionals from across the geospatial, architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) sectors, including members of our GIS team, gathered in Kingston for the “Geo-enabling Digital Twin with AEC and GIS” event hosted by BeSpatial Ontario East. Attendees explored how digital twin technology – virtual models of physical environments – can be integrated with geospatial data to transform how we make business decisions, manage resources sustainably, and improve collaboration across disciplines. The event featured insightful presentations and discussions from experts in the field, including case studies where cutting-edge digital twin technology has been successfully implemented to improve city planning, transportation networks and infrastructure maintenance. City staff from the Enterprise GIS and Planning GIS team presented some of their work at the event: - Enhancing Situational Awareness: Leveraging GIS for Planning and Response to the 2024 Solar Eclipse – Presented by Jordan Rogers & Josh Blanchard, Enterprise GIS - 3D Modeling and Smart City Planning – Presented by Alexandra Dowker & Rayne Jones, Planning GIS
