Our team at CleanTech Collective has been working with the amazing team at City of Prince Rupert on the development of an Innovative Energy Hub. Find out more about it here:
Opportunity Alert for Canadian Clean Energy Innovators! The City of Prince Rupert Mayor Herb Pond recently announced the launch of the Prince Rupert Innovative Energy Hub at the 2024 GLOBE Series event in Vancouver. This landmark project aims to catalyze the growth of renewable and low-carbon energy technologies, leveraging Prince Rupert’s unique geographic advantage. CleanTech Collective is proud to be working with Prince Rupert to help facilitate this initiative, bringing our expertise in clean technology to ensure the success of the Innovative Energy Hub. Together with Prince Rupert, we are ready to help lead the charge towards a greener, more sustainable world. Prince Rupert is making city owned land on Watson Island and Lot 444 available for development of innovative energy projects. To support the development and commercialization of innovative energy projects on these lands, Prince Rupert will negotiate lease agreements that will be structured to encourage and sustain the development of innovative energy projects. The lease framework will consider factors such as the developmental stage of the projects, the technology’s maturity, and the projected timeline for commercialization. The approach in these negotiations will be guided by principles that prioritize long-term sustainability, economic development, and alignment with the city's vision of becoming an innovative energy hub. Companies with strong, actionable project concepts ready to be advanced are encouraged to apply. Innovative energy projects include, but are not limited to: Hydrogen production and export Biomass production and export Wind generation Run-of-river or tidal energy production Innovative energy equipment manufacturers Other innovative energy technologies The first step in this initiative is a Request for Expressions of Interest. The deadline for submissions is August 30, 2024. Whether you specialize in renewable energy production, innovative energy solutions, or sustainable development, Prince Rupert wants to hear from you. This is your chance to contribute to a project that promises not only to transform the energy landscape but also to make a significant impact on global sustainability efforts. Find out more at the attached link. Interested companies are encouraged to reach out for more information on how to make a submission. Let’s embark on this transformative journey together and power the future with clean, innovative energy solutions. https://lnkd.in/gjmCWZza

Healing the Land Our new partner at CleanTech Collective, Ines Piccinino, just finished moderating a panel discussion at BC Natural Resources Forum on Healing the Land: A Vision for Progressive Practices and Land Legacy. The panel featured Kim Williams, Katherine Wolfenden and Lori Halls. It was great to hear anecdotes from the panel about their experiences in leading their organizations to address unfinished work from the past and new approaches to doing work on the land the right way from the start. And Richard Wong, P.Eng.'s closing limerick has set a new standard for sponsor messages!
