Clifton is proud to have participated in GeoMontréal 2024, hosted by the The Canadian Geotechnical Society / La Société canadienne de géotechnique (CGS) in collaboration with the Canadian National Chapter of the International Association of Hydrogeologists (IAH-CNC). The conference, which concluded yesterday, featured engaging sessions, technical tours, and social events. As a Diamond Sponsor, we were honoured to support this significant gathering of geotechnical professionals at the 77th Canadian Geotechnical Conference in Montreal. Among the many highlights, Clifton’s Nevin Cross presented his paper, “A Comparison of IL and CRS Consolidation Testing and Evaluation of the Non-Linear Soil Behaviour of a Clay Till in Southern Manitoba” in the Social Mechanics Foundation Engineering IV session. Nevin’s research provided valuable insights into the consolidation and shear strength characteristics of a large earthen embankment site in southern Manitoba, offering a detailed comparison of in-situ and laboratory-based testing to better inform future design parameters. We look forward to attending future conferences and continuing our contributions to the geotechnical community.
