This afternoon, we wrapped up the CNLO Nuclear Law School two-day event with a thought-provoking keynote by Pierre Tremblay from the CNSC, who left us with valuable insights on the future of the nuclear industry. The afternoon panels, covering topics from Impact Assessment to Waste Storage and Decommissioning, were equally engaging and provided a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities ahead. A huge thank you to the CNLO event organizers, Evguenia Prokopieva, Magda Hanebach, Ayesha Madura, Rachel Roberts, Erica Rodrigues, Lauren Lowns, and Christine Luza, for their hard work in making this event a success. We also want to extend our gratitude to all the panelists and, most importantly, to everyone who attended. We look forward to hosting more impactful events in the future!

The first week of the IAEA’s two-week Nuclear Law Institute (NLI) 2024 has concluded and I am so pleased to take part as a lecturer and facilitator on this important program. The participants started with an inspiring address from Director-General Rafael Mariano Grossi and received lectures from many experts. The journey continues for week two on the details to draft a comprehensive national nuclear law.

Being on the faculty for the NEA’s International Nuclear Law Essentials (INLE) is a real privilege, and we are at a moment of such importance on knowledge of these essentials. I was so pleased to be a part of the program, and delighted to interact with the people whose knowledge will be key as the world moves forward.
