🐄 Celebrating Basin Businesses DAY 4 we're featuring Bolen Livestock - a Jaffray-based butcher that provides high quality local meats and custom cutting in the South Country, and recently benefitted from a Trust wage subsidy. 🧑🏻🌾 Bolen Livestock was founded by third-generation rancher Brody Bolen and his wife Kashtyn who launched Bolen Livestock in 2017. 🚜 Wanting to spend more time with his family, Bolen began looking for skilled meat cutters and, in 2020, he secured Columbia Basin Trust's Food Producer Wage Subsidy. Over the course of three years, he has hired and trained three employees in the butcher shop with support from the program, which supplements wages and increases Basin residents' access to locally grown, healthy food. 🔗Read the full #BasinStory right here: https://lnkd.in/g62MHfz9. #basinstories #ourtrust #columbiabasin #localfood #localmeat #buylocal #jaffraybc #beef

🚗 DAY 3 of Celebrating Basin Businesses we're featuring Cleanline Automotive, the Invermere-based earth-friendly, full service auto maintenance and repair shop! 🔧 In 2012, husband and wife team Aaron and Steph Van de Kemp launched Cleanline Automotive with an innovative approach to vehicle repair, prioritizing environmental sustainability and a positive workplace culture. ♻️ After years of running a successful business while raising three children, mechanic Aaron and marketing professional Steph were exhausted, which led to seeking the guidance of Columbia Basin Trust’s Basin RevUp. The advanced business accelerator program provided Aaron and Steph with customized coaching, focusing on how to sustainably double their capacity without sacrificing their personal lives. The company started RevUp with four employees and is about to add a sixth, with plans to hire up to three more people once their new facility opens in 2025! 🔗 Read the full #BasinStory right here: https://ow.ly/5pHt50TNNAY. #carrepair #mechanics #mechanicsofig #sustainablerepair #disruptors #invermere #invermerebc #ourtrust #columbiabasin #columbiavalley

🍯 Celebrating Basin Businesses DAY 2: Honey Bee Zen Apiaries- the award-winning Creston-valley honey producer, run by Amanda Goodman Lee and Jeff Lee. 🐝 Honey Bee Zen Apiaries is one of the largest producers of natural raw honey in the Columbia Basin. In addition to raising thousands of bees, it produces honey under the names Honey Bee Zen and Swan Valley Honey, and supplies it to about 40 stores. 🏞️ “There’s probably no place where we haven’t got honey in some form or another in the Kootenays,” says Jeff. They also produce beeswax candles and lip balms, beekeeping courses and compete in honey judging, providing pollination units to Creston Valley orchards, and more. 👩🏽🏫 Recently, participating in a free business learning series offered through Columbia Basin Trust has enabled co-founder Amanda Goodman Lee to expand her skills - including financial fundamentals, leadership, and recruitment for on-farm work. 🔗 Read the full #BasinStory right here https://ow.ly/nzJB50TN8T0 and learn more about Basin Business Advisors Program learning pathways right here: https://ow.ly/7WKt50TQ6bY. #ourtrust #columbiabasin #basinbusinessadvisors #creston #crestonvalley #smallbiz #smallbusinessweek #honeybeezen #beekeppers #beekeepersofinstagram #buylocal #supportlocal #localfood

🛍️ It's Small Business Week! Everyday this week we're highlighting a small business in the Columbia Basin that we are proud to work with 🍺 First up is Whitetooth Brewing Company - the Golden-based brewery founded by Kent Donaldson and Mark Nagao, renowned for its Belgian-inspired and West Coast-influenced ales. 🫱🏻🫲🏽 Initial support from the Trust in 2019 allowed them to buy top-notch canning equipment to amp up their craft. In 2021, the business then benefited from the Trust’s business advisory support. Since then, revenue has grown 46 per cent, and today the brewery is thriving with a solid 17-person team. 🔗 Read the full #BasinStory by clicking here: https://ow.ly/ag5y50TNK44. #brewing #brewerlife #ourtrust #goldenbc #buylocal #localfood #localbeer #microbrewing #microbrewery #coop #beercoop
