We often think of September as a month of renewal and fresh starts. Our Compass Rose team used the opportunity to gather for a staff retreat at the family-run Edelweiss Golf & Country Club to step back, reflect, and recharge together. We had a fantastic day with notable guest speakers and engaging activities to connect in person and virtually. There were great conversations on how we can embody and tackle today's pressing #cdnpoli issues while emphasizing leadership, feedback and our commitment to the #uncommoncommongood. Thank you to Gabby and Duncan from Edelweiss, whose efforts in making the venue so welcoming and ensuring the day ran seamlessly! We appreciate you!

This week, Canpotex’s Fertilizer Management Program kicked off, providing delegates with a firsthand look at the critical role potash plays in the Canadian economy and the sophisticated supply chain needed to send it from Saskatchewan to overseas markets. As one of the world's largest suppliers of potash, Canpotex has been instrumental in delivering this essential nutrient to millions of farmers and fields -- helping feed the world for over 50 years. Canpotex's operations are a cornerstone of Canada's natural resource and critical mineral industry, fueling economic growth, supporting jobs, and solidifying Canada’s position as a global leader in potash exports. We are proud to support the Canpotex team! #CanpotexFMP2024
Today, our #CanpotexFMP2024 session began with our Canpotex 101 presentation, and a focus on safety – as a commitment to safety is at the heart of Canpotex’s core values. For over 50 years, Canpotex has been one of the largest potash suppliers in the world, safely and reliably delivering Canadian potash to overseas markets, that rely on it for improving crop yields, and helping the world grow more food. Many of the participants in Canada are from customers who have been with Canpotex since 1972. . . . #Saskatoon #Saskatchewan #Nutrien #TheMosaicCompany #Potash #Fertilizer #CanadianSupplyChain #HelpingTheWorldGrowMoreFood #FromMineToTable

With shifting dynamics in Parliament over the #SACA, the NDP has more room to challenge both the Conservatives and Liberals, while the Liberal government may now find the flexibility they need to redefine their position on the political spectrum. “This is an opportunity for the Liberals to distinguish themselves from the NDP,” Chief Strategy Officer Marci Surkes told Global News's David Akin this week. #cdnpoli

Following mounting pressure, the New Democratic Party of Canada leader Jagmeet Singh announced today a formal end to the Supply and Confidence Agreement (#SACA) first announced in March 2022 that allowed the Liberal Party of Canada • Parti Libéral du Canada to govern without fear of losing a confidence vote. The end of the formal agreement between the NDP and Liberals does not mean that Canadians will automatically head to the polls anytime soon. The Liberals have 154 seats which means they need 16 additional votes to pass legislation and confidence measures, such as the budget or Fall Economic Statement. The government will also have to pay attention to opposition day motions, which can lead to a vote of no confidence. Pierre Poilievre and the Conservative Party of Canada will be looking for ways to wedge the government and other opposition parties on each of these motions. While Singh’s announcement may or may not impact the timing of the election, it will certainly motivate all parties to expedite their election preparations. #cdnpoli

Canada’s aggressive global minimum tax implementation could push multinationals to relocate to due higher taxes. As Dr. Jack Mintz and our Managing Director Theo Argitis suggest, the federal government must prioritize tax policies that encourage investment to stay competitive. tinyurl.com/htx5rrjc #cdnpoli #cdnecon

Our Chief Strategy Officer, Marci Surkes, spoke with POLITICO's Nick Taylor-Vaisey about how cabinet retreats are organized. The retreat takes place this weekend in Halifax. What is the mark of a retreat that gets the job done? “Ministers walk away feeling like they understand the game plan and are core to its implementation,” says Surkes. https://lnkd.in/ees4qsPU
