HOW TO FIX LED WALLS 🛠 LED walls are very reliable, but sometimes diodes stop working. If you can't remove the module, you have 2 options: MOVE THE MODULE. A little dead diode won't be a problem if you move its module to the edge of your volume or the ceiling. This the the quickest and easiest option, but won't work in certain contexts. REPAIR THE MODULE. Sometimes moving your module to a different position isn't possible, so replacing the diode is the best option. Here's how we do it: 1️⃣ Remove the module from your cabinet. 2️⃣ Plug the module into a power supply to assess the damage. 3️⃣ Solder out the broken diodes so that the contacts are clean & free. Soldering with the module powered on is safe, and helps you make sure you aren't damaging other diodes in the process. 4️⃣ Use a heat gun to heat up the contacts so that the new diodes stick. If the contacts are also damaged, replace them. 5️⃣ Place the new diodes on the contacts. 6️⃣ Use a heat gun to heat the surface of the diodes to make sure it attaches itself. You may see some blue discolouration on the surrounding diodes from the hot air — this is normal and nothing to worry about. 7️⃣ If the diodes don't work right away, power cycle the module. If it still doesn't work, apply more heat. 8️⃣ Once the diodes are on and running, test the RGB to make sure everything is working as they should. LED repairs aren't as hard as you may think, but the process is only as easy as the type of LEDs you choose, since some are more difficult to repair. Some LED manufacturers don’t offer warranties and repairs, so keep that in mind when choosing your LEDs. Need help choosing the right LEDs for your organization? Gentle PSA - we have a creative director now 🗣️ But first, WHAT IS A CREATIVE DIRECTOR? A creative director helps bridge the gap between the client and the creative team to help make sure the content we produce is perfectly aligned with your brand and your goals. Here at CoPilot, we're always working to elevate our clients visions and tell their stories in the most impactful way. With a creative director on the team, we're excited to see how he'll help us understand your organization's story and goals better. PS - Everyone say hi to Jordan Johnsen 👋 Feel free to reach out and connect!

Seeing the VisionMax work in real time literally BLEW OUR MINDS. We're all about innovation that helps bridge gaps in virtual production, whether it's Mo-Sys's vSLAM algorithms or our own AI tool (watch out for that soon 👀) Check out the full test on our YouTube channel: https://lnkd.in/gSZdtbFF
Great to see our VisionMax fallback tracking innovation being put through its paces by team at CoPilot Co., with impressive results. The secondary tracking attachment supports StarTracker Max’s continuous tracking in unmapped environments. VisionMax allows the camera to move under objects, into areas that have not been prepared with tracking stars and into scene elements such as vehicles, for even more flexible Virtual Production shooting. VisionMax uses vSLAM algorithms to take over tracking duties when necessary, using data fusion to seamlessly handoff back to star tracking once StarTracker Max has re-acquired enough stars to calculate its position. Call us George Lucas 😎 We often talk about how easy it is to light scenes using our virtual production LED wall, and in our latest YouTube video, we decided to put that to the test by recreating some iconic lighting from Star Wars! How do you think we did? #StarWars #filmlighting #virtualproduction #LEDwall

What’s the craziest thing you’ve done to tell a story? We’ll go first. To tell Junel Malapad’s story in partnership with lululemon, we slept on the side of the Trans-Canada Highway for a WEEK. Junel set out to run 490 km (or 304 miles) in just 7 DAYS — and we were there with him every step of the way, rain or shine. Here at CoPilot, telling stories is what we’re all about, so we’ll gladly risk getting our gear wet for a good story 📹🌧️ Have a story you want to tell? What do you get when you put industry-leading camera tracking technology and AI together? We got to try Mo-Sys Engineering Ltd’s new VisionMax attachment for the StarTracker MAX, which uses AI to continue tracking your camera’s location when your camera tracker loses sight of your stars. The amazing part? We didn’t experience any delays, even when the StarTracker MAX was fully covered, opening up a new range of possibilities for virtual production shots. Virtual production is all about blending the physical world with the virtual one on your LED wall. For our recent short film, that meant things like: → adding moving foreground elements using a dolley track → matching our walking pad speed to the spline we created in Unreal Engine → using motivated lighting to match the environment → dirtying the frame with a fog machine All these elements put together helped blend our environment seamlessly with our live-action elements. Remember, the key to making virtual production work is making it as indiscernible as possible. What tricks do you use to blend the physical and virtual world?
