Congratulations to Dr. Jianhui Zhou, a recipient of a 2024 University Excellence in Research Award! An Associate Professor in UNBC’s School of Engineering, Zhou’s research has significantly advanced the field of wood engineering and building technology including the specialized areas of wood mechanics and structural design; building acoustics and vibration; and engineered wood products. Collaborating closely with industry partners, Zhou works to ensure his research findings are effectively transferred to practitioners. As a supervisor to graduate and PhD students in a number of disciplines, the UNBC researcher is dedicated to sharing his widespread expertise, inspiring students and mobilizing knowledge that will have a global impact. Congratulations to Jianhu Zhou – an innovative and empowering researcher!

Deadwood Innovations and Nak'azdli Development Corporation announce the early, on-budget, and incident-free completion of the Tl'Oh Upgrader FEED Study.

Deadwood Innovations participated in a Client Partner Challenge with the UBC Sauder School of Business Sustainability Marketing (COMM484) class. The applied project challenge brief presented to students was aimed at developing innovative marketing strategies to promote Deadwood Innovations’ sustainable product and technology in the forest industry, creating Forestry 2.0 ™ The diverse student cohort demonstrated a high level of sophistication using modern marketing techniques and provided valuable insights as the next generation of business leaders. Stay tuned for exciting updates on how we engage with the public and businesses as their recommendations are implemented.
