Great Opportunity! POSITION: Household Manager / Personal Assistant This is a unique role for an entrepreneurial House Manager/PA, comfortable in a fast-paced, cultured and sophisticated home office environment. The ideal candidate is creative, smart, energetic and a stickler for details. In command of outstanding problem-solving skills, this candidate is focused on finding solutions. Working with the principal to manage a large home, and a diversified range of business, cultural and domestic interests, the candidate must be highly organized, an effective communicator and adept at “cutting to the chase”. This candidate has strong intellectual curiosity, is resourceful and independent, has good judgment, superb organizational skills, common sense, and emotional intelligence. Key Responsibilities: Provide administrative and communication back-up for multiple files both personal and household Communicate –– spoken and written –– on behalf of the employer Manage a comprehensive administrative and project-related filing system, both digital and hard-copy Manage the flow of the household with deliveries, trades and phone Maintain a detailed contact system Manage sophisticated events with VIP guest lists, as well as entertainment arrangements Manage personal errands. Basic household financial management Manage an extensive wine collection End of day security and systems check in the household Qualifications: Min. 5 years experience supporting a Principal with a fast-paced lifestyle. A minimum of a BA An appreciation for the arts Superb time management and organizational skills, strong work ethic, Availability to work unusual hours if required but typically M-F 9:30am-5:30pm Proficient with digital technology; experienced with MS Office suite. Quickbooks an asset. Previous experience in a sophisticated home environment Strong sense of loyalty and great personal integrity Full Ontario driver’s license (no vehicle required) and current passport. Personal Characteristics A lifelong learner, with integrity, who finishes whatever he or she commits to. Flexible and adaptable, able and willing to work non-traditional hours, including some travel. Typical hours Mon-Fri 9:30am-5:30pm with flexibility and overtime for special events. The candidate is discreet, managing critical situations confidentially and with sensitivity. This is a self-confident, clear-thinking person that understands quickly what needs to be done in a wide verity of circumstances and is able to act decisively. This is a unique and exciting opportunity for the right individual. Required travel is occasional (1-2 weeks per year) and is almost exclusively to Europe and New York.
