Dress for Success Toronto is celebrating 15 years of empowering women in the GTHA, and we're proud to announce the launch of our What Suits You? awareness campaign. Dress for Success Toronto is known for the confidence-building Suiting Program that has supported over 20,000 women. But we are more than a great suit. What Suits You? encourages individuals to reflect on the diverse journeys that have brought them to where they are today. We're honoured to launch What Suits You? with the announcement of our inaugural ambassador, Sarah Nurse. For the Canadian Olympian and power forward for the Professional Women’s Hockey League’s Toronto Sceptres, it’s no surprise that “empowerment” is the word Sarah chose to represent her own professional journey. “I believe in community and the power of women moving each other forward. Particularly as a hard-working woman in a male-dominated field. To me, empowerment means agency and the ability to make my decisions based on my values. Empowerment most definitely suits me, and so many of the women with whom I work - on my teams, in my business, and in my volunteer work,” says Sarah. What an incredible night at Dress for Success Toronto's Beyond the Suit, and we at Dean Davidson are honored to have been a part of it! It was a privilege to see our jewelry featured on the runway, styled with SMYTHE’s stunning designs by the talented Julianne Costigan and her team. The night brought together amazing women, like ambassador Sarah Nurse, an Olympic Champion and powerhouse in every way. She added modeling to her impressive list of achievements, gracing both the runway and the red carpet with elegance and strength. It was an exciting night of delicious food and drinks, a red carpet, a fashion show and other fun activations including our Wall of Belonging, photo booth, prize and online auction wall and of course, our very first live auction for the much sought after Taylor Swift concert tickets which sold for over $5,000! Our fashion show was a highlight of the evening and was hosted by the impeccable Julianne Costigan and her team, who styled our models with clothing by SMYTHE and jewelry from Dean Davidson. Also on both the runway and on our red carpet was our inaugural ambassador Sarah Nurse, power forward for the PWHL's Toronto Sceptres and Olympian and World Champion. Sarah said later that she was thrilled to add "model" to her impressive resume. The event was a tremendous success and our work to empower women would not be possible without the support of everyone that supported this year's Beyond the Suit.
