Today, we are honoured to highlight Treaty One Development Corporation and Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF)—two key drivers of economic and community growth in Manitoba.   Treaty One Development Corporation represents the seven First Nations who signed the first numbered Treaty at Lower Fort Garry in 1871. Under the leadership of Kathleen BlueSky, CEO, the Corporation is fostering economic growth on Treaty One Lands through sustainable business ventures that generate revenue, employment and skills development for the Treaty One Nation through projects like Naawi-Oodena—the largest urban Indigenous economic zone in Canada.   Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF), the national government of the Red River Métis, has provided governance since 1967 for the Métis people of Manitoba, ensuring their constitutional rights are upheld.
