The Aecon Group Inc.-Emil Anderson Construction General Partnership (AEGP) recently broke ground on the R.W. Bruhn Bridge Replacement Project. This bid-build project spans approximately 1.9 km of Highway 1 and includes the replacement of the R.W. Bruhn Bridge with a new four-lane bridge, along with intersection improvements between Old Sicamous Road and Silver Sands Road. The new bridge will feature a multi-use pedestrian and cyclist path, improving safety along the corridor, and will enhance traffic flow efficiency along the Trans-Canada Highway 1 corridor. #EmilAndersonConstruction #Aecon #RWBruhnBridge #Highway1

As we embark on our second Alliance project, the Aecon Group Inc.- Emil Anderson Construction General Partnership (AEGP) is gearing up to start work on the Highway 8 Flood Recovery Project in a joint effort with Urban Systems Ltd. and the BC Ministry of Transportation and Transit to form the Nicola Valley Partners Alliance (NVPA). The NVPA will replace two temporary structures along Highway 8 with permanent bridges after the previous bridges were damaged during the 2021 Atmospheric River. In addition, the NVPA will build close to three kilometres of connecting highway approximately 15 km east of Spences Bridge to enhance safety and climate resiliency in the area.

An old-school snapshot featuring an Emil Anderson Construction Hayes truck and Joseph Conti. The Canadian heavy equipment vehicle manufacturer was a partner of Emil Anderson in the 1920s and ‘30s before merging with Lawrence Manufacturing in 1946. We have to tip our hard hats to that timeless EAC logo. Photo credit: Mike Tupper (Instagram) #ThrowbackThursday

Today, we celebrate International Women’s Day by recognizing and celebrating the achievements of women in our industry and around the world. The women we work with are professionals as well as parents, volunteers, mentors, and caregivers, who consistently bring their passion and dedication to their roles each day. There is still work to be done to establish true gender parity in our industry, and at the Emil Anderson Group, we stand in solidarity to #AccelerateAction for gender equality. We are committed to doing our part to build an industry where every person has equal opportunity to grow, succeed, and make an impact in the communities of British Columbia. Thank you to our co-workers, partners, family members, and all the women who inspire us daily. #internationalwomensday

Women own projects, lead teams, and deserve the equipment to do their jobs to the best of their abilities, just like anyone else. Because safety starts with well-fitted equipment, our own Corporate Safety Analyst, Jessica McWilliams, collaborated with F.A.S.T. First Aid & Survival Technologies Limited to design vests that are tailored for women. Comfortable, durable, high-visibility, and designed to the highest safety standards, these vests are made to fit all body types—an accomplishment we’re proud to highlight during #WomenInConstructionWeek 👷♀️
