They chatted with Julia Deans, outgoing CEO for Habitat for Humanity, took a tour of the newly built energy efficient homes and met some happy new homeowners. Anthony brings over two decades of experience leading technology teams and a proven track record of delivering success through a strategic mindset and brilliant execution. Prior to joining Enercare, he held senior roles at TD Bank, a leading Canadian financial institution. As technology plays an increasingly significant role for our customers and business operations, Anthony's expertise will be instrumental in driving our digital transformation journey. The Enercare Women in Trades Committee had a dynamic start to spring, engaging young women to explore a career in the trades. Their commitment to community outreach and empowerment was evident through a series of events designed to inspire and educate young girls. ⭐Virtual Career Day at Halton School Region⭐ In April the committee kicked off the month with a virtual career day with students across the Halton school region. Jill Cicchello one of our plumbers shared her journey in the plumbing trade and the path that led her to it – offering valuable insights to the attendees. ⭐HVAC & Plumbing Bootcamp at Durham College⭐ The committee’s efforts continued through April as they hosted interactive workshops at Durham College. These workshops brought together girls in grades 7 and 8, attracting 100 participants eager to learn more about HVAC and plumbing. A huge shoutout to our committee members – Jill, Brandy, Anna, Laura, Dini, Alyssa, Melanie and Annemarie – who guided the participants through the activities. Enercare's dedicated team members from the GTA and surrounding regions, recently joined Habitat for Humanity GTA for a Build Day at 423 Old Weston Road, Toronto. Enercare volunteers worked alongside Habitat for Humanity GTA staff, skill workers, and aspiring homeowners to construct residential housing. The Build Day, held on May 16, 2024, marked Enercare's third since launching the Sustainable Homes Partnership in November 2023. Julia Deans, CEO of Habitat Canada, joined Nick Perreten, President and CEO of Enercare, in celebrating the partnership and support which included a $500,000 donation to build more affordable and sustainable homes. Both leaders underscored the importance of advancing Habitat Canada's enduring vision for providing safe and decent housing and highlighted the anticipated positive outcomes of our ongoing collaboration.
