I'm beyond excited and proud to share that my team is a finalist for two awards for the 9th Annual Shorty Awards for Impact—Research Reports (2023 Higher Impact report) and Gender Equality (Nyssa video) categories. The team puts a lot of heart into their work, but especially into stories and research like this that aim to drive positive change in our industry. For background, the Shorty Awards (a.k.a. “The Shortys”) honors the most innovative work in digital and social media by brands, agencies, and organizations. The judges included industry leaders from notable brands and organizations like Bumble, Meta, Netflix, Digitas, Lenovo, Edelman, LinkedIn and more. And past winners have included incredible people like Malala Yousafzai, Trevor Noah, Michelle Obama, and Lady Gaga, and brands such as HBO, Airbnb, Honda, UNICEF and PepsiCo. What an honor to be included among these esteemed leaders, brands, and organizations! In addition to the award, you can vote for our work (before October 30th) for a special Audience Honor at https://lnkd.in/eZNcmj94. We appreciate your time and vote! The biggest shout out to Alexis Simonetti, Farraz Khan, Deirdre Buckingham, Matt Miller, and Justin Kirkland for all their efforts in leading this work, and our many partners including Environics Research, Westfish, Nyssa (Eden Laurin), Nivi Chowdhry, Mario Mercado, Jenn Roberts Ma, and many, many more!

In recognition of this year's World Mental Health Day theme "mental health at work", Susan Seto, MBA, CAIP's looks into Four Stages of Psychological Safety in the workplace in her recent article. These stages—Inclusion, Learner, Contributor, and Challenger Safety—are crucial for creating an environment where all employees, particularly women, can thrive. By addressing the gaps in these areas, we can foster a culture that supports mental well-being and empowers everyone to bring their authentic selves to work. Read the full article to learn how we can uplift women and foster a culture of thriving at work https://lnkd.in/gNraV6p5 #WorldMentalHealthDay #PsychologicalSafety #WomenInTheWorkplace

🌐 Mastercard Emerging Leaders Cyber Initiative - Module 1: Canadian & Geopolitical Landscape 🌐 Over the last few days, I dove into 30 intense hours of learning, networking, and collaboration with an incredible cohort of female cybersecurity leaders, industry experts, and alumni. The experience was packed with invaluable insights, thank you Trish Dyl, Rebekah Brown, and Sarah Lang! 💡 Cybersecurity in a Rapidly Evolving Landscape: It's allowed me to think intentionally about cybersecurity and its implications for clients like banks, insurance, wealth management, and FinTech. - Vigilance is critical: We face countless vulnerabilities from something as simple as a USB port at the airport to a "wrong number" text message. With AI advancing so rapidly, your voice could be cloned in 3 seconds, and deepfakes are becoming scarily convincing. - Questions as a researcher: How aware are individuals & businesses of these risks, and how prepared are they? What are the brand repercussions of ransomware and data breaches? What does it mean for cyber insurance, FinTechs, wealth managers, advisors, etc.? 👩💼 As a Parent & Business Leader: - Parenting in a digital world: I can’t help but think about how we safeguard our kids. Cybercriminals are becoming more sophisticated—how do we balance educating our children about online risks without taking away their freedom to just be kids? - Business responsibilities: How do we, as leaders, empower our teams, partners, and clients with the knowledge and tools to protect our business data? Proactive threat monitoring is no longer a luxury—it’s a necessity. 📊 Insights from our FinTech Study: In our annual Environics Research FinTech Syndicated Study, we've tracked Canadians' attitudes toward the balance between privacy and convenience since 2019. About half of Canadians are unwilling to trade their personal information for convenience, while the other half are either open to it or conflicted. But the story is about social values... - Those most open to sharing their information are strongly motivated by their values—they prefer authentic brands, embrace new technologies, and love new ideas. They connect with close-knit groups of friends, value diversity, and are excited about purchasing goods. They also place high importance on environmental concerns and have confidence in advertising. - On the other hand, those who disagree with sharing their information have a deep distrust of advertising and place little importance on brands. They are concerned about the amount of data collected by governments and businesses, feel intimidated by technological changes, and make purchasing decisions based on utility. They rely on logic and reason to control their emotions. As we continue to navigate this ever-changing digital world, it’s clear that cybersecurity is more than a technical issue—it’s a societal challenge that touches all aspects of our lives. #Cybersecurity #AI #SocialValues #Privacy #FinTech

"This month, as I reflect on ADHD, I’ve realized that not only do I approach research differently, but my unique approach is also what my clients recognize as a strength. I like to think of research as a blend of art and science, which makes the process more creative, dynamic, and impactful." Hear from Vijay Wadhawan, as he reflects on how he's embraced ADHD as a strength, not a limitation 💜 #ADHDAwarenessMonth

I’m posting this article in recognition of ADHD Awareness Month—and in true ADHD fashion, it’s coming in at the end of the month. After all, aren’t deadlines just gentle suggestions? 🙃 ADHD has had a bad rep, but I’ve been reflecting on how it shapes my work and learning to embrace it as a superpower I’m proud of. I wanted to share some of my experiences so those without ADHD can better understand how ADHD brains work—and hopefully inspire my fellow ADHDers to reflect on how their ADHD shows up in their work and helps them stand out. I’d love to hear your thoughts! Whether you have ADHD or not, feel free to share how neurodiversity impacts your work in the comments below. #ADHD #ADHDAtWork #Neurodiversity #MRX #Research

Thank you Fintech Cadence and Lorenze Dsouza for hosting FinTech Social last night, I had the opportunity to meet many new people in FinTech or work in FinTech adjacent fields. I loved the diversity in the room! From established players to government to startups, I had an opportunity to talk with people from all across the ecosystem—ScotiabankCIBCIntuitOntario Securities CommissionBrim Financial, Rocket Financial Inc, etc. Everyone was open to new ideas and innovation - and I even had a fascinating conversation about question design when asking consumers about Open Banking! (The "research geek" in me came out... 😂) Such great conversations, I can't wait til the next one! #Fintech #innovation #openbanking #networking #conversations Environics Research Tarique Khan, Andrew Escobar, Zahin Hussain, Sybil R.
