    📌 Important BC Employer Bulletin! Your Obligations in the BC Provincial Election 📌 Advanced voting for the BC provincial election begins today, October 10, 2024. This bulletin provides a brief overview of employer obligations to employees ⬇️ Key voting dates: 🗓️ Advanced Voting Days: October 10, 11, 12, 13, 15, & 16, 2024 🗓️ Final Voting Day: October 19, 2024 What does this mean for BC employers? You MUST provide eligible voters with up to four (4) consecutive hours off work to cast their ballot: 👉 On Final Voting Day (Oct 19) OR 👉 During advanced voting IF their schedule on Final Voting Day doesn’t allow for 4 consecutive hours off OR they are willing to vote in advanced voting Important key details to make note of: 📝An eligible voter is a Canadian citizen who will be at least 18 years old on October 19, 2024, and has been a resident of British Columbia since April 18, 2024 📝Employers are not obligated to provide 4 consecutive hours off work generally 📝Employees taking time off to vote will not lose pay. Employers cannot make deductions for time off taken to vote.
