I am truly grateful and honoured to be a part of this remarkable team with Nicole Montpetit, Katrena Munsch, Debbie Bottrill and Emily Don. On Monday, we had the privilege of receiving the Order of Excellence Award for Mental Health at Work from Excellence Canada. It was a remarkable day that reinforced my pride in Sun Life's dedication to mental health in the workplace, and showcased the dedication to prioritizing mental health shared by numerous organizations across the country.

Forty years ago, my father’s government established the Canada Awards for Excellence. Today, it stands as one of Canada’s most coveted organizational awards. Thank you to Excellence Canada for honouring my father, the late Rt. Hon. Brian Mulroney, with a Recognition of Achievement Award during today’s Ruby Jubilee celebration and award ceremony.

Conference Host, Speaker and Moderator. 3 X Hall of Fame Inductee Host of Chatter that Matters Podcast / Founding Partner Chatter AI

Canada. It's Time. That was the title of my keynote at the Excellence Canada 4oth Anniversary Conference. What followed was magic, as I had an opportunity to interview Arlene DickinsonDany Assaf, and Jon Love C.M. on stage. Their passion for Canada, pragmatic approach to solving our problems, and determination to pursue opportunities are unmatched. My keynote and the conversation that followed can be compressed into two words: Positivity and possibility. My talk stated that Canada's current state and the need for a turnaround are opportunities we must all chase rather than thinking the answers can be found in an election. It begins with financial literacy. Canadians must personalize our deficit, economic state, and government policies instead of voting for the 'free prizes' at election time. We must show Voters that fighting over slices of a shrinking pie baked with borrowed dollars will leave future generations starving. We must come together as a country, identify our big bets and the unmet needs and invest in those sectors. We must create purposeful jobs and a future for future generations. I cited Canada becoming an Export superpower in longevity and preventative healthcare, AI, content, agriculture, natural resources, including LNG and Uranium, and investing in an entrepreneurial-led economic renaissance where Made in Canada- Stays in Canada. One of the many brilliant takeaways from Arlene is that Canada suffers from Tall Poppy Syndrome. Instead of celebrating those shaping our future and standing for and standing out, we tend to dismiss them and, at times, villanize them. What we can do for entrepreneurs is less bureaucracy and more investment; as consumers, we can buy from them. From Dany: His passion is contagious, and one of his key messages is that we need to believe in a better Canada if we are going to have a better Canada. We need to leverage what we have and export it to the world. And from Jon: We need a prosperity agenda in this country focused on growth. We should consider a Cabinet of Industry Captains to help shape policy. The three of them put on a masterclass, and if they even choose to seek political office, I will resign all of my activities and hammer in lawn signs or whatever they need to get elected. For those who weren't in the audience, I will put it out as a Chatter That Matters podcast in the coming weeks. And for all of us—Canada, it's Time. Our standard of living is less than Alabama's, the fourth poorest state. Tent Cities, Food Bank overruns, youth unemployment, and a game plan with three moves—spend more, borrow more, and tax more—are not only sustainable; they will bury future generations in wet cement. You know this, I know this, we must do our part so every voter knows this. #chatterthatmatters #chatterAI #Canada #democracy #elections ChatterAI Allan Ebedes Kevin Dougherty, ICD.D, MBA Duncan Munn Bill Stone Shelagh McGrogan Caroline Paxton Tom Sorotschynski

Yesterday was an amazing day. 400 people came together to celebrate Excellence Canada's 40th Annual Canada Awards for Excellence and the Canadian Business Excellence Awards. A phenomenal day spent recognizing amazing accomplishments bookended by two amazing keynote presentations. The first, moderated by Tony Chapman from Chatter that Matters, featuring Arlene Dickinson, Jon Love C.M., and Dany Assaf that focused on the Canadian prosperity agenda. Talk about highly relevant and thought provoking. The final keynote, delivered by Joe Roberts 🛒 Skidrow to CEO was probably the most inspiring talk I've ever seen. Joe walked over 11 million steps across Canada pushing a shopping cart to raise money and awareness in support of ending youth homelessness. We finished the day with our board chair Shirlee Sharkey honouring our retiring CEO Allan Ebedes after 19 years of committed service to our organization. Thanks so much to our panelists Jim Chung, Suzanne Blanchard, Katrena Munsch, Erika Taylor, and Jennifer Lombardo for sharing the motivational stories of your excellence journeys. Congratulations to the 15 organizations and three individuals who were recognized for their achievements with Canada Awards for Excellence, and to the 26 winners of the Canadian Business Excellence Awards. Watch this space for summit highlights, and plan to join us next year!
