These large machines move slowly and require extra space, so look out for those slow-moving vehicle signs—they're there for a reason! Let's all do our part to ensure safety for everyone on the road and make this harvest season a safe one!

Ever wondered about the difference between sweet corn and grain corn? Here’s the scoop! Sweet Corn: This is the delicious, juicy corn you enjoy on the cob, perfect for summer BBQs. It’s a variety of corn known to be harvested when the kernels are plump and tender, making it a tasty treat. Grain Corn: Also known as field corn, this type is grown primarily for animal feed and other products like ethanol. This variety is harvested when the kernels are mature and dry, making it tougher and starchier. So, while it might be tempting to pick that roadside corn, remember: it’s usually grain corn, which isn’t meant for eating and entering the field is considered trespassing! Stick to sweet corn for the best flavour and experience!

This phenomenon is known as “terroir” in the wine world, and it plays a crucial role in what makes each wine distinct. Curious to learn more about how soil impacts agriculture?
