We just returned from a week at the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift where we had the chance to watch amazing racing and connect with some of the leading women in the cycling industry. One of our favorite conversations was with Sadhbh O'Shea, a press officer for GreenEDGE Cycling. Prior to becoming the press officer for the team, Sadhbh was a journalist for 12-years. At races she was often asked why she was in the press room or it was assumed that shew as with the catering staff. Listen to what she has to say about the impact of this race:

The energy around the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift is all over the city of Rotterdam and no one brings more hype than Kate Veronneau . As the Director of Women’s Strategy for Zwift, she has been a driving force behind this event. On Sunday before the race she and her team at Zwift brought all-day panels, Zwift races, and a space for connection to the crowds gathered at the Brewdog Pub. Over a dozen women from the industry gathered to connect and celebrate the evolution of women’s cycling. We’re thankful to be here and be part of this movement in women’s sport!

The U.S. saw history this week as venture capitalist turned cyclist, Kristen Faulkner brought home the women's road race gold for the first time since 1984. But there's more to the story. Kristen originally was only set to compete in the track events after Taylor Knibb secured the second road spot for the U.S. at the TT National Championship. In early July, Knibb pulled out of the road race, allowing Faulkner to take that position. The goal was to secure a medal for one of the Americans, and after Chloe Dygert crashed, Faulkner took her shot, beating the current World Champion and the most decorated female cyclist in history. Oh and she's been cycling for less than a decade. 🤯 In 1984, the first time women were able to race bikes in the Olympics, American Connie Carpenter-Phinney won the gold in L.A. and after a 40-year wait, Kristen has made history!

At 17 years of age, Weini Kelati sought asylum in the United States. She didn't speak English In 2014 she traveled from from Eritrea to Oregon to compete in the Junior World Championships, and never turned back. Without telling her friends or family, she intentionally missed her flight back home to begin a new life in the United States, with dreams of gold medals and a better future. She moved in with a distant relative, running before school and working as a cashier after school. In 2021 she officially became a U.S. citizen and will run the 10,000 meter for Team USA in Paris this summer.

We're all talking about this epic year in women's sports, but the thing is, women's sports have always been exciting They've always had amazing moments. What they didn't have was a movement behind them. They didn't have their own start lines. They didn't have media coverage. They didn't have sustainable salaries. But what women's sports have always had is fans. And fans fuel movements. Today, we're excited to invite you to join us in the Feisty Women's Sports Fan Club. It's completely free and you'll get special discounts and behind-the-scenes coverage from some of the biggest events (including the Olympics and the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift) and a community of other women excited about women's sports! We're headed to Paris this week to cover the 2024 Olympic Games. The women of the games are incredible. Get to know Brittany Brown 👇 For years she dealt with crippling endometriosis but when she tried to bring it up to her doctor, she was dismissed. When anxiety was layered on top of that, doctors just told her to get a hysterectomy. But she kept working toward her Olympic dream. Unsponsored she bussed tables and worked as a caregiver to patients with dementia. After a second place finish in the 200 meter at the Olympic trials, she'll be representing the United States on the track in Paris
