With the elections in the United States, tensions may rise among your team, and election results can create division. Here are some key tips for support: Reaffirm Core Values: Remind everyone that your organization’s commitment to human rights and core values remains strong, regardless of election outcomes. Address Important Issues: Acknowledge any significant human rights issues that could be impacted by the elections, especially those affecting women, immigrants, and the LGBTQIA2+ community. Encourage Respectful Dialogue: Share clear guidelines for having kind, respectful, and inclusive conversations about the elections, ensuring everyone feels heard and valued. Adjust Workload: Lighten the schedule if possible by reducing meetings and deadlines around the election period to allow team members time to process and recharge. Offer a Space for Discussion: Create a voluntary, safer spaces where team members can share their thoughts, worries, or concerns the day after the election. Share Mental Health Resources: Make mental health support available by sharing information on community resources and crisis hotlines for those who may need extra support. Invisible Disabilities® Association unpacks how challenging stereotypes and misconceptions around invisible disabilities are essential to supporting those who live with them. Key Takeaways: Misconceptions: Not all disabilities are visible. Just because someone looks one way doesn’t mean that is what they experience. 🤔 What Are Invisible Disabilities? Conditions like chronic pain, fatigue, or cognitive conditions that aren’t obvious but can affect daily life. 🌱 Examples: Fibromyalgia, Lupus, Lyme disease, MS, and more can cause invisible disabilities, affecting work, daily tasks, and relationships. Impact on Relationships: Lack of understanding can lead to isolation and strained relationships for those with invisible disabilities. ⛓️ Empathy Matters: Don’t judge by looks—show empathy and recognize the unseen challenges others face. 💜 Read the full publication to learn more: https://lnkd.in/gvkJtvJQ #InvisibleDisabilitiesWeek #Inclusion

With the U.S. elections approaching, political conversations are becoming harder to avoid—even at work. In a recent article for Girlboss, Sarah Saska, PhD, our CEO and co-founder, shared her insights on navigating these discussions in the workplace and why avoiding them can sometimes do more harm than good. For many people, issues like healthcare, wages, and civil rights are not just political topics—they’re deeply personal realities that impact how we show up at work. Ignoring these conversations often serves to maintain the status quo, rather than addressing the real needs of those affected. As we move through this election season, it’s crucial that workplaces foster empathy and openness. Understanding your colleagues’ perspectives isn’t just helpful—it’s essential for meaningful collaboration and lasting change. Read the full article for more on how to navigate political conversations at work in a thoughtful and professional way: https://lnkd.in/dKzk3cPy Thanks to Sarah Laing and Girlboss for featuring our thought leadership! 💜 #WorkplaceCulture #Leadership #Equity #Inclusion #PoliticsAtWork #EmpathyAtWork

Financial Times highlights that while building a diverse workforce is important, companies need to move beyond simply focusing on representation and numbers. Key Learnings: Building an inclusive workplace culture is critical for attracting and retaining talent, particularly in light of changing demographics and employee expectations. 💭 Younger generations, who comprise a growing percentage of the workforce, are more diverse and expect their employers to reflect this diversity. 💭 Companies that fail to adapt risk high staff turnover and damage to employee well-being. 💭 Read the full article to learn more: https://lnkd.in/e5uS7ziG #Inclusion #FutureOfWork

Today is World Menopause Day—a time to break the silence and end the stigma around this important life stage. This matters for everyone. In the workplace, it's more than just a moral issue. Menopause costs the U.S. economy $26.6 billion each year, with $1.8 billion lost in productivity. Yet, only 18% of companies plan to offer menopause support by 2025. Menopause impacts people in different ways, especially at work. Check out our latest newsletter and blog, Supporting the Menopause Journey is Key to the Future of Work, to learn more about how we can create more intentional support. https://lnkd.in/g4Aq5Yea
