Meet Michele, one of our distribution centre volunteers! 👋 Michele has been volunteering for 7 years, and her role varies from building orders for the Community Food Assistance Network to assembling hampers for those in need. When we asked about her favourite part of volunteering at The Food Bank, she said: "My favourite part is helping people. Knowing that when I'm building orders they're going to a good place" Want to make a difference like Michele? You can volunteer with us as a group or individual! Did you know that food recovery plays a vital role in supporting our community and reducing waste? 🍓 Last year, we recovered 2.6 million pounds of surplus food from food industry partners, preventing it from being thrown out. This food goes directly to individuals and families facing hunger in our community. Working with local farmers, food producers, and distributors, we ensure that good food is used to feed people—not end up in a landfill. If you would like to learn more about our Food Recovery program, reach out to Nicole Marinelli: https://bit.ly/3xoKhEF #FeedWR #FoodBanks #FoodRecovery
