I had 13 interviews last week. Let me tell you how I got them. No networking. No applications. No nepotism. No, it wasn't magic. I got found for those opportunities through good old-fashioned recruiter sleuthing. The auto-apply bots have gotten so bad that many recruiters right now have given up posting roles online for applicants, and instead are searching jobseeker profiles using tools like LinkedIn Recruiter and various similar tools on Indeed, ZipRecruiter, Dice, etc. The role I just accepted? The cold outreach came from a firm which placed me EIGHTEEN YEARS AGO on my first WPF role. They remembered that I am an SME on WPF and learned directly from the founders at Microsoft, and decided to go see if I'm available - sure enough I had a green banner on my LI profile and they called me asking if I'd be interested. A bazillion folks like Richard King here on LinkedIn will tell you: make sure your resume and your public profiles are GREAT!!! They are not wrong. That's how I got found (or found again in this case).

"Let's focus on the solution." Shifts attention to problem-solving and creativity. "I trust your judgment." Builds self-efficacy and performance. "You've made us all proud."
