Earlier this year, we developed a new brand for The Confluence Historic Site & Parkland. Upon reflecting on the significance of this project and the depth of the process we undertook, we realized it could be valuable to share our journey with others. We're choosing to share that story on this day—National Day for Truth and Reconciliation—because learning the Indigenous perspectives about this place were as much a part of the journey as any other aspect of the project.

Design for people doing good things.
About us
We create branding, printed and digital communications for people who do good things. Whether your work involves developing products or services that inspire positive change, taking steps towards lessening environmental impacts or attempting new and innovative approaches to important social challenges, we'll probably have a lot to talk about, because we care about these things too. We created the Grow Your Good initiative to support businesses, organizations, and individuals who share our values but may not be able to easily afford our services. We award one to two recipients a year $1000 in design to help them bring their project to life. Learn what we’re all about, see how we’ve helped others, or connect with us to talk about the good we can do together.

Earlier this year, we rolled out a fresh website for Calgary Arts Development. We planned and designed it with the understanding that above all, it needed to useful. It houses a tonne of valuable information, but we knew that not everyone would visit it for the same reason. Prioritizing UX was a must. Despite some possible preconceptions about what an art organization's website should look like—we didn't go wild with visuals and kept it mostly text-based. Why? To help maintain clarity given the massive amount of information, and avoid any future incoherence that could come from relying too much on visuals from different sources. You can check out the site here: https://lnkd.in/g2AvFrpx. Stay tuned for more about this project!

GOOD Company supports both The Sprawl and The Narwhal because we know how critically important independent journalism is! The deep, investigative reporting from both of these is so very welcome. Especially found this latest collaboration to be very interesting:
For the new Sprawlcast, I collaborated with The Narwhal to dig into a controversial development that's expected to nearly double Canmore's population. I'm usually working alone on these deep dives but on this one I got to join forces with Drew Anderson, The Narwhal's Prairies reporter. When Drew and I realized a few months ago that we were working on the same story, we decided to share our research and reporting. I'm doing a podcast series (this is the first of two episodes) and Drew wrote an article for The Narwhal. Behold the mighty Narsprawl! As always, The Sprawl publishes our podcasts not only in audio format, but also with a full magazine-style transcript complete with photos, newspaper clippings and other goodies. Listen, read, or do both!
