The 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵 & 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 30𝘁𝗵 is an opportunity for us in Canada to honour the resilience, dignity, and strength of survivors and intergenerational survivors, while also remembering those who never came home. This week, in addition to providing information and educational resources to our network of team members, our parent company's community giveback initiative, 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘀 donated $10,000 to the 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗼𝗿𝘀' 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 (www.irsss.ca). In the spirit of our values: We Love People, Connection, Challenge, and Growth, we invite you all to share support on this day, wear orange, and continue on our combined path to reconciliation and empathy.

We’ve teamed up with locally based visual artist and illustrator Carson Ting, who will be creating his own artwork to be part of the Grouse Gallery, before joining the judging panel to help choose the winners. Up to five winners will be chosen to receive the Grand Prize. For more details including how to enter, visit: https://lnkd.in/gxeM34UN

We are excited to share the ongoing progress of Grouse Mountain’s state-of-the-art gondola! Slated to open during fall/winter 2024, the gondola marks the start of a new chapter for us leading up to the Resort’s centennial in 2026. Across May and June, the terminals for both the Plateau Station and the Base Station were put into place, and works continue on their structures. To make way for the new gondola, at the end of June, the iconic Blue Tram was decommissioned after 58 years of operation. The tram cars are currently both stationed at the base of the mountain, and while our plans for them aren’t yet finalised, this won’t be the last you see of the Blue Tram. With the removal of the Blue Tram, another major phase of the project was able to progress - the assembly of the towers and line work that will eventually link the two stations together over a 2,600 foot vertical rise. Helicopters were used to deliver concrete for the remaining foundations as well as transporting nine of the 14 towers into place. To access one of locations, the Skyride was used as a winch to transport the pieces into place, check it out in the video! Guests will continue to see towers appear over the next few months! As we approach the 100th anniversary of the Resort’s inaugural ski season in 2026, we are thrilled with the strides made in the ongoing evolution of this transformative project. The gondola, and recently announced Mountain Coaster and Mountain Bike Park projects support the continued investment in the world-class experience Grouse Mountain offers and ensure Vancouver’s number one natural attraction is accessible for generations to come.

We’re so pleased to share that this year’s Seek the Peak event raised $30,000 for Metro Vancouver Regional Parks Foundation. The sell-out event saw 800 participants complete the 16km course from sea level to the summit of Grouse Mountain as individuals or as part of a relay team. We thank everyone who donated, or took part in this year’s event, who rose to the challenge and pushed their limits while raising much needed funds. Metro Vancouver Regional Parks Foundation is the only registered charity dedicated to supporting Metro Vancouver Regional Parks, and this money raised will support critical initiatives such as trail maintenance, conservation projects, habitat restoration and community programming. 🌲 ⛰ 💚

As part of a $9 million investment, Grouse Mountain is excited to announce there will soon be even more ways to enjoy the Resort, with the addition of a Mountain Coaster, and the North Shore’s only chairlift accessed Mountain Bike Park, both opening next spring. The new attractions will open after the launch of the Resort’s new state-of-the-art gondola, set to open in winter 2024/25 in what will be an exciting 12 months for Grouse Mountain, as it works to greatly enhance its four-season offerings and the overall guest experience. After an incredible 58 years, our iconic Blue Tram has officially taken its last journey to the mountaintop, signaling the end of an era as we make way for our new, state-of-the-art gondola. Welcoming its first passengers in 1966, the original Grouse Mountain "Skyride" was the largest, double reversible passenger carrying tramway in Canada at the time, providing a silent and smooth journey to the mountaintop. The Blue Tram holds a special place in our history, and we are committed to honouring its legacy as we advance with the construction of the gondola and enhance our four-season operations. While our plans for the tram cars and not yet finalized, rest assured, this wont be the last you see of the Blue Tram!
