📢 Exciting news... We're growing and looking to work with a Fractional Growth leader. (heck yes, fractionals 🤓!) We are looking for a leader that would play a hybrid role of a CMO / CRO and help us get to our next growth phase. Ideally we’re looking for someone that can help us with: 1️⃣ Sales Pipeline Management 2️⃣ Content Strategy & Execution (LinkedIn and newsletters) 3️⃣ GTM Strategy Execution (events, webinars, lead magnets, and more) A big bonus is a leader that has experience working with service-based businesses. If you have any recommendations, please DM me, tag on this post, or reach out at hello@growthpartners.ca. Looking forward to hearing from many talented folks! #fractionalleadership #growth #GTM

Meryeme Lahmami, from Pender Ventures recently shared her tips with our CEO & Founder, Jordan Hill on what startups should be reporting on to their board and investors. Read what she shared below 👇 #Reporting #Investors #Startups
Fractional Startup CFO | Helping startups grow with fundraising support, scalable tech stacks, and relevant reporting
As a startup, what metrics should you report on? What metrics will help measure success and keep you on track? That's the question that I had when catching up Meryeme Lahmami. Meryeme is a VC with Pender Ventures and specializes in Series A startups, along with Kenndal McArdle, CFA and Isaac Souweine. When you're a founder, it's critical to have a set of key data points that summarize what is working and not working. Your gut-feel becomes less of a barometer as you grow. And those with a board of directors, it's important that they can understand what is working and not working to help provide proactive guidance (i.e. before you're out of runway!) Here's some tips that Meryeme shared: 📊 Give context to the numbers: while tracking your metrics is a great start, it's less relevant on its own. Compare to a reference point for context - start with tracking against prior year's numbers and your target you set at the beginning of the year. ⏲️ Keep it consistent: metrics to startups haven't changed over the years (especially with SaaS). You are summarizing metrics to show how you acquire prospects, convert to customers, retain customers and manage your runway. Metrics around your lead-to-close cycle and cash burn are a good start. ⚖️ What's your ROI: a startup with capital is making educated bets. Will attending this conference provide future revenue? Does this new product feature increase our ACV? Make sure you are identifying expected pay-offs on your investments to see if they pan out as expected. 📋 Score your GTM: a startup is all about growing. That means getting leads, pipeline and customers. Once you are approaching Series A, it is expected you have product-market fit. Track how well you are finding the customer niche and converting to paying customers. Perfect this cycle. 🛬 What's the impact to runway: at the end of the day, it all leads to your burn and runway. Startups need capital if they want to grow. With all of your decisions and deviations in metrics, always circle back to what that means to your runway estimate. (plug: CFOs are helpful with this part 🤓) A big thanks to Meryeme for sharing her wisdom as a VC! Happy scaling! 🚀
