We are pleased to share a video highlighting our crews’ versatility and the installation of three (3) retaining walls at the Cachet Woods Industrial Complex in the City of Markham.   Some highlights include: SienaStone® segmental retaining walls were selected as the basis of design. SienaStone® is an engineered large module segmental retaining wall system designed with a geogrid reinforcement. This system is engineered with structural capacity for both gravity and reinforced wall systems. We are pleased to share a video highlighting work we completed at the Cachet Woods Industrial Complex in the City of Markham. The project involved underground site servicing for three (3) industrial buildings. Some highlights include: Storm structures approximately 30’ deep were installed utilizing engineered support systems including slide rails and trench boxes. Recharger High-Capacity Stormwater Chambers were installed in lieu of conventional stormwater management systems. The system was installed beneath the parking surface to capitalize and improve on the available real estate to the client. A hydrodynamic separator was installed that uses deflective separation to screen, separate and trap debris, sediment, and hydrocarbons from stormwater runoff. A Protectus Meter Chamber was installed that is used to measure wide flow ranges, registers leaks, and detects unauthorized use from fire service lines. On Saturday November 30th, Hebster Construction was proud to celebrate and kick off the holiday season at the 67th Annual Christmas Gala at the Fairmont Royal York, hosted by the Greater Toronto Sewer and Watermain Contractors Association (GTSWCA). The evening, gathered by friends and colleagues was filled with warmth, laughter, and festive food. We are pleased to share a very special video featuring a channel & watercourse reconstruction project we completed in Orangeville, Ontario. Natural Channel Design (NCD) is a specialized approach to watercourse restoration and realignment which attempts to reconstruct channels to emulate the natural physical form of the river or stream features that would be appropriate for that location. There were several sensitive environmental constraints that had to be managed during the design and construction of the project, including: *Removal of an existing pond to maximize developable area for the site and its’ natural environment *Re-connection upstream & downstream of the Mill Creek Tributary *Passage of native fish through both the existing tributary and new channel *Settlement of fine particles and their affect on water quality *Flood relief and floodplain storage for larger rain events A few unique engineering features included: *Implementation of natural erosion controls through plantings at channel banks, seeding & erosion blankets *Implementation of the channels’ meandering shape and rifles / pool systems to protect the channel bed *Aeration and cooling the water *Energy dissipation to support aquatic habitat Hebster Construction is extremely proud to have been part of this incredible team of planners, surveyors, designers, and specialized consulting engineers. With their hard work and support, our crews collaborated to execute and deliver this critical piece of infrastructure, providing critical habitat to the natural environment.
