This post is for the job seekers. Since January 1st this year Talently has scheduled 500+ interviews for our clients. Every day we see candidates screw up little details that make or break their chances of landing a job. Here are 5 simple tips to ensure you impress in your next interview 1) Camera & Audio Check your camera and audio before your interview. Does it sound clear? Does my background look professional? Is the lighting good? Take 5 minutes to double-check these things before your interview. First impressions matter and if your audio & video isn't good, you're not good. Seems simple but the vast majority of candidates don't do it. 2) Show Up Early Make sure to join the Zoom/Meets/Teams link 5 minutes before the scheduled interview time. Being early shows your professionalism and eagerness for the role. Automatic red flag if you are late. 3) Name Pronunciation Research whom you are interviewing and ensure you know how to pronounce their name properly. LinkedIn has a tool to help you with this. "Remember that a person's name is to that person the sweetest and most important sound in any language." Dale Carnegie 4) Follow Up Email 90% of candidates DO NOT send a simple follow-up email after the interview. If you are in that 10% you have a better chance of landing the job. A simple email thanking them for their time and expressing your interest in the role/company/team. It goes a long way. 5) Smile Employers want to hire people that they want to be around. Smile, be warm, be friendly. This will have a positive impact on how you present yourself and are perceived by the interviewer. Simple, actionable steps to increase your odds of landing your next job. I hope this helps and happy hunting out there. #jobs #interviewing

There are 2 things you should prepare before every interview. If you don't, you've lost the job before you even had a chance. 1) Them Do research on the company you are interviewing with. Seems simple by 60% of candidates don't make the effort. It is simple, review their website, check out their social channels, read any recent news articles, LinkedIn profiles of the people you are interviewing with, etc. This shows that you CARE. 2) You Prepare specific stories and examples you have from previous roles that will prove to the interviewer you are the right person for the job. Simple structure to follow "This was the problem/goal" --> "Here is what I did to get the job done" --> "These were the results" Nobody wants generic answers to interview questions. Stories are always better. We hope this helps you land your next role! #hiring #interviewtips #offshorestaffing

If you are trying to get a job by submitting your resume..... YOU ARE DOING IT WRONG This is what you should be doing to make sure you stand out from the pack, 1 - send a direct email. It is easy to find the email for the hiring manager. Send them a direct email outlining who you are and why you will make their life easier 2 - interact with their content on LinkedIn and provide value. This will ping them with a LinkedIn notification with your name and face 3 - do the job without being asked. For example, if you are applying for a graphic design role, design a Facebook ad for the company you are applying for. It will showcase your skills for their exact use case. If you combine these 3 actions with a simple resume application, I guarantee you will land more interviews. Good luck out there. #hiring #offshorestaffing #recruiting
