Ending Veteran homelessness through tiny home communities with wrap around social support services.
About us
For one out of every four Canadian Armed Forces members, the process of being released from their military careers and transitioning back into civilian life can be stressful and complex. Due to these challenges, Veterans are twice as likely as Non-Veterans to become unhoused and female Veterans are twice as likely as their male counterparts to experience homelessness. The Homes For Heroes Foundation was established to find an enduring solution to this disconcerting and persistent national issue. Through careful research and implementation, we have designed a reintegration program that takes unhoused Veterans through to the point where they can rejoin society as independent, self-supporting, and productive citizens. Integral to this approach is the establishment of specialized communities (or “Villages”) where such Veterans can reside while being offered the help they need to overcome the circumstances that originally made them unhoused, particularly with respect to post-traumatic stress.

This past week, the Homes For Heroes team visited the vibrant city of London, Ontario - a hub of higher education, medical research, manufacturing, and technology. London proudly honors those who have served and expressed support for a potential Homes For Heroes Veterans village within the community. Our team extends a heartfelt "Bravo Zulu" to the City of London and their gracious tour guide, Pat O'Hagan, for their warm hospitality. #londonontario #ldnont #london #ldn #h4hf #caf #canadianveterans

Looking forward to seeing Brad Field and the CPKC team on Sept. 21 for this important event to help raise funds for our #veterans.
Hi, I'm Brad Field, CEO of Homes For Heroes Foundation. One of our key corporate partners is CPKC - the railway. On September 21 in Calgary, they'll be running the annual CPKC Spin for a Veteran event to help raise $200,000 for our Homes For Heroes Veteran Villages. And I'll be there. I thought that this might give you a unique opportunity to support Homes For Heroes. My personal fundraising goal is $10,000. It's the ideal time to show your appreciation to our brave veterans by helping a Vet experiencing homelessness get back on his or her feet through our innovative Veteran Village program. Every dollar you give will be doubled thanks to a $200,000 matching grant from CPKC! Will you help? Donate HERE: https://lnkd.in/gZ3kYj_w

The mission of H4HF is to provide a caring, innovative, and comprehensive solution for our unhoused Veterans. We are doing so by: • Building unique and affordable urban housing communities in major cities across Canada where unhoused Veterans will be able to successfully transition back to civilian life; and, • Establishing a full‐service wrap‐around program to provide the counselling, training, and resources clients need to achieve the goal of living independently in the long term. www.h4hf.ca
