About us
The International Model Forest Network (IMFN) is a voluntary global community of practice. For more than 25 years, its members and supporters have been implementing a participatory, landscape-level approach to the sustainable management of natural resources. This Model Forest approach offers an effective and flexible process that creates broad partnerships and represents the environmental, social and economic forces at play on the landscape. The IMFN Secretariat, hosted by Natural Resources Canada - Canadian Forest Service, provides day-to-day coordination for the Network, works to strengthen and expand the Network and supports new and existing Model Forests through regional and global meetings, training and extension work, specialized workshops and international communications.
