We ask you to join us and actualize our vision for a better future—a future where poverty is reduced, nature is preserved, and the planet thrives. When people come together to work towards a shared vision for a sustainable and equitable future, everyone benefits. We are all stakeholders in the well-being of our respective landscapes, but we are also stakeholders at the global level in the well-being of our planet. Integrated landscape management is an increasingly popular approach to addressing our planet’s land use, climate change, food security, and water access challenges. But how can we explain the concept to newcomers? This animated explainer captures the core elements of what ILM looks like in practice. #sustainability #ilm #holisticlanduse #landscape #collaboration #ecoagriculture

🚨 Update from #COP16! Juan C. Ramos, our Senior Manager of Finance and Policy, recently presented our groundbreaking finance innovations at the #COP16 event: Operationalizing Landscape Approaches to Ensure We Are on Track With the Biodiversity Plan. The event featured insights from speakers representing Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), IUCN, CDP, WBCSD – World Business Council for Sustainable Development, High Ambition Coalition for Nature and People, among others. They discussed how landscape approaches can be integrated into national biodiversity strategies and highlighted initiatives that support comprehensive, 'whole-of-society' solutions. Key takeaways from the event included: 🌎 Landscape Approaches 🌎 These are crucial for meeting all the Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) goals, especially Target 3. Engagement with Indigenous peoples and local communities remains essential, as shown by long-term research from IPSI and IPBES. 💵 Finance and Private Sector Involvement 💵 Intentional and thoughtful engagement is vital. Insights from CDP’s work on landscape initiative demonstrate paths forward for meaningful collaboration. 🙌 Diverse Approaches & Ongoing Efforts 🙌 Organizations like the NBSAP Accelerator Partnership and 1000 Landscapes For 1 Billion People showcased diverse ways to operationalize and fund landscape approaches. 👫 Unifying Efforts 👫 There's still a need for stronger collaboration among governments and organizations to scale up and mobilize these efforts effectively. #COP16 #Cali
