📣 On September 13, Ireland-based Simply Blue Group announced that they chose Goldboro, Nova scotia for their first expansion into Canada. The company will develop a renewable energy park that will harness renewable electricity generated from Simply Blue Group’s solar and wind farms, alongside Nova Scotia’s sustainable biomass and water resources, to produce sustainable aviation fuel. The Renewable Energy Park is due to begin construction in 2026 and is expected to be fully operational by 2029. 🍃 As the transportation sector currently accounts for around 20% of total greenhouse gas emissions, Simply Blue’s commitment to the creation of a Renewable Energy Park to produce sustainable aviation fuel will play a role in decarbonizing the aviation industry, enhancing Canada’s regional sustainable fuels and hydrogen hub, and supporting numerous opportunities in the supply chain. 🤝 #InvestInCanada is looking forward to supporting this project alongside our partners, including Invest Nova Scotia. 🔍 Learn more about this unique investment: https://lnkd.in/gfCcB8iN #BesttoInvest // 📣 La semaine dernière, Simply Blue Group, basé en Irlande, a annoncé qu’il avait choisi Goldboro, en Nouvelle-Écosse, pour sa première expansion au Canada. Our project will focus on sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) pushing Nova Scotia to the forefront of the clean energy revolution. 🌿 Hugh Kelly, CEO & Co-Founder of Simply Blue Group, says: " We are very excited to be developing the Goldboro site into a renewable energy park. The sustainable aviation fuel that we will produce there will play an essential part in reducing dependence on fossil fuels and combating climate change.” He continued: “SAF is a drop-in fuel that matches the performance of conventional jet fuel while reducing greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 90% compared to conventional jet fuel.” Construction begins in 2026, with full operation expected by 2029, creating hundreds of jobs and boosting local economic growth! 🚧💼 Tory Rushton, Minister of Natural Resources and Renewables said: "Nova Scotia is poised to become a leader in green hydrogen. Did you know that Canada was named the country with the most optimistic economic outlook? For the 12th consecutive year, Canada is among the top five countries on Kearney’s  FDI Confidence Index. #InvestInCanada is thrilled to announce Linde has signed a long-term agreement to supply Dow with clean hydrogen for its Path2Zero project in Fort Saskatchewan. Linde will invest over $2 billion to build and operate a world-scale integrated clean hydrogen and atmospheric gases facility in Alberta.   Upon completion in 2028, this facility will become the largest hydrogen production site in Canada, providing a significant economic boost to the region and creating high-quality jobs.   We’re proud to have supported Linde with facilitating key introductions, advisory services, coordination and communication with various partners.
