Women’s Rights and Gender Equality: A Solo Traveller’s Perspective Karen Gershowitz writes: "As a solo female traveller, corporate executive and independent business owner, i’m a fierce advocate for women. Even with all of the progress women have made, there is still a long way to go for true equality. In my travels, I’ve seen first hand that the struggle for equality continues, both at home and for women worldwide. As women, it is our right and responsibility to work on these issues in any way we can. The upcoming U.S. election has the potential to impact the future of many of our hard-won freedoms. And, because the United States has so much influence in the world, women’s rights could be impacted globally."

A Message from Journeywoman CEO Carolyn Ray: Don’t Stand on the Sidelines Whether you’ve been out travelling or at home, you may have noticed some distressing shifts in how women are being treated in the world. These changes are not positive. In too many countries, we are witnessing the dismantling of women’s rights. In others, we see a relentless restriction of women’s freedom. WEBINAR REMINDER: "Travel With Purpose" on Tuesday, October 15, 2 pm ET Join Humanitarian Carla Geyser of Blue Sky Society Trust to learn about the beauty and harsh realities of Africa, and the audacious treks she designs for courageous women to raise funds for wildlife and humanitarian projects. “For some, the awakening is instant, and Africa ignites something inside their soul straight away. For others, it only hits a few weeks, or even months after they have returned home. You can be staring out the window, watching the sunset and all of a sudden, the reality of what you did really sinks in.” — Carla Geyser, Founder, Blue Sky Society Trust #womanowned #africa #webinar #womenstraveldirectory
