SCARS, a non-profit dedicated to reducing abandoned animals in Alberta, has rescued, rehabilitated, and rehomed thousands of pets since 2002. With over 300 pets in care and more than 2,000 rehomed annually, their impact is immense. SCARS’ most pressing need right now is monetary donations for veterinary bills. They spend thousands of dollars on medical care for pets in need, dealing with animals who require extensive surgeries, medical treatments, and time for healing. As we mark our tenth anniversary, we are proud to share the incredible journey of our HSE Manager of Canadian Operations, Ronda Adams. I have witnessed this company grow from four bases and 100 colleagues to a global organization with 13 bases in Canada and the USA, a manufacturing plant in Oman, and over 360 colleagues. In the last ten years, we have achieved significant milestones in health and safety: we achieved a TRIF of zero twice and have maintained a TRIF of zero across the entire organization for an extended period, which is remarkable in our industry. As we mark our tenth anniversary, we are proud to share the experiences of our dedicated team members. Nathan Jen, Materials and Process Engineer (EIT), reflects on his journey with us: "My experience at Lifting Solutions over the past year and a half has been incredibly positive. I wholeheartedly recommend LS as a great place to work. This is my first industry role as a Materials Engineer (EIT), and it has been both challenging and rewarding. The diverse range of materials I work with ensures that my job is always interesting, and our team’s commitment to ambitious goal setting is balanced with a strong emphasis on work-life balance. During my time here, I have significantly contributed to the development of our latest coated continuous rod, the KeBond. Joining the team just as field trials were beginning, I had to quickly adapt and learn. I am deeply grateful to my colleagues in the Materials Engineering and Manufacturing teams for their support and for providing me with extensive exposure to various manufacturing processes. Their trust in my abilities allowed me to take on more responsibilities, and it has been incredibly fulfilling to see my ideas and feedback play a direct role in the success of the KeBond project. Being part of the team that brought KeBond to commercialization has been a highlight of my career, and I look forward to many more achievements with Lifting Solutions."
