Dog Guides is on-site at Pet Valu Oakwoods in Oakville, celebrating their fantastic three-year opening anniversary! 🎈🐶 So much of what we do at Dog Guides wouldn't be possible without the incredible support of Pet Valu. Today, we're celebrating a local store that's been a true paw-tner in our mission. Join us for a day filled with furry friends, wagging tails, and plenty of gratitude! 🎊🐾 Our current autism support and facility program came out to purchase some essentials as they embark on their journey ♥️ Lions Foundation Of Canada Dog Guides Pet Valu

We have good news to share with you. Turner was selected to build Dog Guides National Training Centre, a social impact project located in Oakville, Ontario. This center will be essential in enhancing the Lions Foundations of Canada Dog Guides ability to serve the community.   The new facility will include classrooms and training rooms, 35 rooms to accommodate service users, as well as large indoor and outdoor spaces. These spaces are designed to provide an optimal environment for both the training of the guide dogs and the comfort of their future users.   In addition, as part of the ACS Group's commitment to #inclusion and #diversity, the Turner team on site decided to foster a puppy, whom they have named Turner. This little future guide enjoys playing with the team and is already a beloved part of the family. Together they will ensure that she is well socialized and receives basic obedience training, paving her way to becoming a fully-fledged and confident dog handler.   In the words of Stuart Smith, Vice President and General Manager of Turner Construction Company, "We are building a world-class facility that will directly benefit hundreds of Canadians with special needs each year.''   We look forward to the completion of this training center in 2026 and are proud to be part of an initiative that will have such a positive impact on our society. • Earlier this month we officially launched The Difference Campaign, and we are thrilled to finally share with you! This campaign is to build Canada’s first purpose-built, state-of-the-art Dog Guide training school. Our goal is to raise $50 million to make this vision a reality. To date, we have secured $40 million of the $50 million goal, and we would like to thank our supporters from across Canada who have invested in this project. This is the most significant campaign in the foundation’s history and will enable us to expand our capacity to train and match more Canadians from across the country with incredible Dog Guides. But we need your support to help reach the goal and make a difference! The new national training school will: * Significantly improve accessibility and comfort for our clients * Have 35 accessible guest bedrooms. * Have a dedicated training room and classroom for each of the 7 programs * Include a larger and improved kennel and vet clinic with indoor and outdoor spaces for Dog Guides in training to learn, play, and relax. The success of building a national Dog Guide training school relies on the collective contributions of many people like you, whose support can turn dreams into reality. Please join us and help build a national Dog Guide training school. Together, we can empower individuals by enhancing their mobility, independence, safety, and overall quality of life. This is The Difference your contribution can make. Today we celebrated our last event for the fiscal year, the 2024 Motorcycle Ride for Dog Guides! A dedicated group of motorcycle riders joined us from across the GTA to raise money for Lions Foundation Of Canada Dog Guides. We hosted our annual Poker Run motorcycle ride, starting at our Oakville facility and stopping at Campbellville, Bellwood, Elora and Breslau. The ride made its final stop with live entertainment, raffle, Toonie Toss, and of course, a barbecue at our beautiful breeding facility in the country! Thank you to our generous sponsors, riders, volunteers, fosters, and staff for making this event a success. Your support helps us continue our mission to provide Dog Guides to Canadians living with disabilities at no cost! 🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️
