On behalf of our beautiful LNG Canada delegation at #Gastech, a special thank you to the thousands of attendees that made our week in Houston absolutely brilliant. With construction activities now more than 95% complete overall, we remain on track to deliver first cargoes by the middle of 2025. With the LNG Canada project now more than 95% complete overall, we remain on track to deliver first cargoes by the middle of 2025. We recently introduced natural gas to the facility for the first time, watched Canada’s most innovative tugboat fleet arrive at our berth, and welcomed hundreds more Canadians to the LNG Canada asset team who will help safely operate this country’s first gas liquification and export facility. Learn more by watching our latest progress report with CEO Jason Klein. https://lnkd.in/gCjFhHtc

This week, LNG Canada expects to introduce natural gas to its Kitimat facility for the first time. Once natural gas is received from the Coastal GasLink pipeline and all safety checks are satisfied, a small flare pilot will be activated at our vapour flare tower, followed by low-level flaring that will occur over several weeks prior to more visible flaring. The introduction of natural gas and flaring activities mark a pivotal step in LNG Canada’s safe start-up program as we prepare to ship our first cargoes of made-in-B.C. LNG by the middle of 2025. Executives from the PPA and BC Coast Pilots Ltd. were in Kitimat this week to tour the new LNG Canada marine terminal, Canada’s first LNG export facility, as it nears completion, and to help welcome HaiSea Marine’s new electric tug, the HaiSea Wamis. The PPA then hosted Jason Klein, CEO of LNG Canada, and Senior Deal Lead, Warren Handley, aboard the pilot launch Pacific Chinook to observe a pilot boarding at Triple Island near where the coast pilots will embark and disembark from LNG carriers visiting the Kitimat facility, beginning in 2025.

“To bring the HaiSea Wamis up the Douglas Channel and into Kitamaat Village with my family and several other Haisla members was incredibly powerful." On Monday, three generations of Haisla Mariners sailed the HaiSea Wamis home into Kitamaat Village, a historic moment which marks the beginning of a new, important chapter for HaiSea Marine.
