Did you know that 235,000 people across Canada are homeless each year? That’s more than the entire population of Windsor, ON, or Burnaby, BC.
Today, on World Homeless Day, join us virtually for a special Spotlight session in partnership with MAP from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., exploring solutions to prevent and end chronic homelessness.
Staples and MAP, through our partnership on Even the Odds, share a commitment to helping build and grow communities through real-world solutions so that everyone has the chance to thrive. In this session, MAP Director Dr. Stephen Hwang and MAP researchers Dr. Naomi Thulien and Mardi Daley will explore:
· What the research shows: what works and doesn’t work to help people get housed, stay housed, and regain their health and well-being
· MAP’s response: evidence-based solutions that disrupt cycles of socioeconomic exclusion and poor health
· Even the Odds’ impact: How your support has driven innovation such as the Navigator Program and the Transitioning Youth Out of Homelessness Program
At Staples, we are proud to support initiatives with MAP, like today’s Spotlight session, that support the equity pillar of our Community and Sustainability approach: equity, environment, and education.
