About us
The Mohawk Council of Kahnawá:ke (MCK) is the organization that provides governmental and administrative/operation services to the community of Kahnawá:ke. Politically, Chief and Council comprise the elected body; the Office of the Council of Chiefs provides support and advisory services for the Chiefs. As well, the MCK provides direct administrative/operational services for a number of programs, including housing, roads and infrastructure, finance, policing, a community insurance plan and much more. Indirectly, the MCK is linked to most of the community’s main organizations through the Executive Directors Committee. The Committee meets to brainstorm, exchange information and ideas, and to improve efficiency. The Mohawk Council of Kahnawá:ke is the current governing body for the Kahnawá:ke Mohawk Territory.* Chief & Council consists of twelve (12) representatives elected from and by the people.
