A hub for the health and well-being of boys, men, fathers and families. No one is invincible.
About us
The Canadian Centre for Men and Families is a mental health and social service facility that serves as a hub of programs and services for boys, men, fathers and their families. Our vision focuses on three critical areas: 1. Reduce suicide among men at high-risk through intervention programs that confront the barriers that men face in seeking help. 2. Empower fathers undergoing separation and divorce through legal clinics and fathering groups that strengthen the father-child relationship, while working to promote positive social attitudes toward fatherhood 3. Support men who are experiencing domestic abuse and other forms of trauma while working with other agencies to improve services for this population.

Very good points raised by thetinmen. Times change, and our ideas about men and women need to reflect the current reality. What do you think? Leave a comment below.
Times change, and so should we. It is not right to continue insisting that men are ubiquitously privileged, advantaged in every sense, cruising down easy street, counting their stocks and shares, their pockets stuffed with cash. It is not right, either objectively, or morally, to insist men and boys don’t need our help; that issues impacting them either don’t exist, or if they do, are self inflicted, resolvable through a change of ‘toxic’ male mindset. It is not right for the focus of society’s compassion and advocacy to remain centred exclusively on women; as men stand outside, peering in, as they’ve ‘had their go’ and ‘it’s women turn now’. It’s not right, because times change. The roaring success of getting women into education, and tackling the burdens of women’s health, must be acknowledged, congratulated even, as the pendulum has swung, and in many instances, swung too far. Now, today, in 2024, boys are behind at every stage of education, and has been for decades. Today, men’s health is behind in every single ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic group; they die younger in every country, and in greater numbers at every age. No. That is not the life of privilege, and those who continue to insist it is, will soon be consigned to the pages of history as a shameful blemish; as charlatans and liars. Don’t look back at these days, through parted fingers, head in hands, as we look back at some of our ancestors now. Don’t embarrass future generations, with today’s actions, or words of ignorance. Open your eyes, your hearts and ears, and do your future self proud. No. Being a man is not easy, always, and in many ways, it’s incredibly hard. Times change, and so should you.
