In 2017, Campbell River Golf Club underwent a 14-month transformation led by renowned architect Graham Cooke. Formerly Sequoia Springs, the course reemerged as an 18-hole, 6,100-yard resort-style course with rolling fairways, over 200 trees, and stunning water features. It's also home to the first driving range in Western Canada featuring Toptracer range technology. Locally owned and proud to be part of the Vancouver Island Golf Trail, this course offers an inclusive and approachable environment for all. #CampbellRiverGolfClub #NaturallyPacificResort #VancouverIslandGolf #exploreVancouverIsland #CampbellRiverBC

Today, we had the pleasure of partnering with Greenways Land Trust to clean up Kingfisher Creek, in Campbell River, BC. Greenways Land Trust not only provided us with the tools and resources we needed, but also shared valuable knowledge about the creek’s ecosystem. Kingfisher Creek is a remarkable example of the challenges facing urban creeks and streams. Flowing beneath the Gold River Highway, its two branches meet further upstream. The east branch has a bifurcation structure that diverts excess water during heavy rains to prevent highway flooding, but this can reduce water flow during dry periods, threatening salmon survival. Beaver activity has transformed sections of the creek into wetlands, creating diverse and vital habitat for salmon and other wildlife. However, invasive grasses in the wetland are overtaking native species. With these dynamics at play, Kingfisher Creek holds great potential for restoration and ongoing monitoring. Together, we’re making a positive impact on this unique ecosystem and helping ensure it remains a thriving habitat for wildlife. Every effort counts in our mission to protect and preserve our natural resources.
