Chiropractors have the expertise and training to diagnose and treat patients with spine, muscle and joint pain in Ontario. And they are ready to do more to tackle wait times. But minor regulatory changes are needed so they can order advanced tests. Right now, patients must visit a doctor to get a referral for a diagnostic ultrasound, MRI or CT scan. But what if you can’t get a family doctor? Chiropractor and Health2Work Practice Lead, Dr. Amy Brown explains how chiropractors can help patients without family doctors get diagnosed and treated faster. The Ontario Chiropractic Association (OCA) looks forward to working with the government to deliver more connected and convenient care. Thank you Dr. Emily Danson for your insightful contributions to the OCA Practice Realities panel discussion at Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College PO25!
Yesterday, I had the privilege of speaking at Practice Opportunities at CMCC, where I connected with an incredible group of 4th-year students. It was inspiring to share insights from my journey in practice and discuss the exciting possibilities ahead for them. I also had the chance to highlight the impact of Corporate Wellness programming—an area where healthcare professionals can make a real difference in workplace health and performance. A big thank you to CMCC and The OCA for hosting such a valuable event, and to the students for their great questions and enthusiasm! The Health2Work Program is helping people to return to work in Cambridge, Kitchener and Waterloo. Dr. Amy Brown, Health2Work Practice Lead and OCA Chiropractic Consultant, spoke with Troy Bridgeman of CambridgeToday to highlight the benefits of the program. “There are a number of people receiving support from Ontario Works that are unemployed because they have injuries,” said Brown. “They aren’t working which means they don’t have benefits and they have limited incomes so they can’t afford to pay-out-of-pocket for care to help address those issues.” People who qualify for the Health2Work program are entitled to 10 sessions with a chiropractor. “The goal of this program is to help people address those [spine, muscle and joint] issues,” said Brown. “We identify what those issues are and help find a management plan to get them back on track.” The innovative Health2Work program expanded from Cambridge into Kitchener and Waterloo in January 2025 to help more Ontario Works clients access fully funded chiropractic care to support their transition to training and employment opportunities. https://lnkd.in/g29ZyRM9 #Chiroprators #Ontario #HealthCare
