Cavern work at the future King-Bathurst station is officially underway! The construction team is using the sequential excavation method, taking advantage of the natural strength of the surrounding earth to efficiently dig underground. The roadheader featured in this photo has rotating cutter head and pivoting arm to provide flexibility in shaping the tunnels and caverns that are needed during this phase of excavation. We’re excited to see this progress on the Ontario Line project! #OTG #OntarioTransitGroup #proudtobeOTG #OntarioLine #Construction #Toronto #Excavation

Great news to close out 2024, as Ontario Transit Group presses forward with construction of the Ontario Line Southern Civil, Stations and Tunnel project, we’re busy preparing for the next big stage: tunnel boring! These new tunnel boring machines (TBMs) are roughly 7 metres wide and being assembled and rated in advance of their cross-Atlantic journey to Toronto, Ontario Canada. In 2025, once commissioned and operational, they will start their real work; creating twin tunnels across downtown Toronto from Exhibition to the Don Yard (west of the Don River), in support of the Ontario Line. #proudtobeOTG

On this day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve our country. On Remembrance Day, we reflect on the sacrifices made in both times of war and peace, acknowledging the resilience and strength of those who stood in defense of the values we hold dear. As we wear our poppies and observe a moment of silence, let us be reminded of the importance of honoring their legacy through our actions, kindness, and the freedoms we enjoy every day. To all who have served, thank you. Your courage will never be forgotten.
