Congratulations to Dr. Jeremy Grimshaw on his retirement after an outstanding career in implementation science! One of the world’s top #KnowledgeTranslation and implementation scientists, he is retiring after 22 years at OHRI and the University of Ottawa. He dedicated his career to finding the best ways to move research into the clinic to improve patient care. He also helped establish interdisciplinary knowledge translation research capacity in Canada and around the world. Dr. Grimshaw has held leadership roles in many national and international organizations, including the Cochrane Collaboration, the Global Commission on Evidence to Address Societal Challenges and the COVID-19 Evidence Network. He has received many prestigious awards, including CIHR’s Barer-Flood Prize for Health Services and Policy Research, Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and Corresponding Fellow of the Royal College of Edinburgh. With over 717 peer reviewed publications, he's been ranked among the world’s top researchers on Clarivate’s Highly Cited Researcher list every year since 2015. At OHRI, Dr. Grimshaw led the Clinical Epidemiology Program for 7.5 years and the Centre for Implementation Research for six years. In recognition of Dr. Grimshaw’s outstanding scientific legacy and leadership, OHRI’s Clinical and Applied Health Researcher in Training Award is being renamed as the Grimshaw Researcher in Training Award. The Canadian Cholangiocarcinoma Collaborative (C3) was formed in 2023 through a Canadian Cancer Society Breakthrough Team Grant to increase hope in patients diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma. The C3 is comprised of patients, caregivers, oncologists, and researchers and operates out of the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute. When prostate cancer spreads, it often goes to the bones, causing pain, weakness and an increased risk of fractures.
