That's a wrap on #CAEH24! Hugely grateful to CAEH for welcoming us, my incredible staff (including the peer support workers from across the sector who jumped in with us with open arms) for supporting people with lived or living experience of homelessness so effectively, and the 13+% of attendees with lived or living experience of homelessness who made the Shaw Centre a real place of community connection for four (long!) days.

We're so glad to support the 2024 National Conference on Ending Homelessness, along with the other great organizations who took part in the local host committee!

After many months of planning and hard work, the Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness #CAEH24 conference is getting underway today. Thank you to United Way East Ontario - Centraide de l'Est de l'Ontario and Ottawa Community Foundation for sponsoring the local host committee, and to the committee members Ottawa Tourism, United Way East Ontario - Centraide de l'Est de l'Ontario, Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa, John Howard Society Canada, Options Housing, Operation Come Home, Cornerstone Landing Youth Services, Shepherds of Good Hope, Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness, and the City of Ottawa / Ville d’Ottawa.

When people from across Ottawa’s housing and homelessness world get together, we can build a system that works better for everyone. The Moving UPP project brought together nearly 200 local thought-leaders, frontline staff, and people with lived experience of homelessness. Working together, they identified ways that Ottawa’s housing and homelessness systems could use the resources we currently have to build a more effective system that helps get people into homes faster and more easily. We were so glad to help convene today's community gathering. Engaging women and gender-diverse people with experience of homelessness is vital to the work of preventing and ending homelessness.
